FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

thanks for checking in here before your visit––we want to make sure you know what to expect when you get here. our taproom is situated within our cider house which is a 24/5 production facility (think forklifts, canning, etc) we typically have 12-16 flavors on tap andare currently limited to servingone flight per person, per day and cannot serve full pours in the taproom. but don't worry, our outdoor cider garden and pop-up, where we serve full pours is open may - october and the perfect spot to hang out after you enjoy a flight in the taproom.

yes. we are a 21+ facility at both the cider house / taproom and our outdoor pop-up. all members in your party must show an ID to enter, no exceptions.

we do not offer tours at the cider house at this time. however, you can get more than a glimpse of our fermentation and production process in our taproom, located in the middle of our cider house where it all goes down. our staff is happy to provide information.

yes! we welcome all* furry friends and feel free to bring outside food. heck! have a picnic! have a picnic with your dog!

*if your dog is not really into crowded/loud spaces, people, or other dogs, we ask you to kindly leave them home as they will not have a good time here.

we love kids. but they don't really love us and to be honest, we get it. our floors are concrete, we have no food, no non-alcoholic beverage options, and no ball pits. everyone in the cider house must be seated–and with lots of fancy cider-making machinery, ingredients, and chemicals around, we cannot allow children (or adults, for that matter) to be wandering, toddling, or running around. that being said,  if your kid is 10 years old or younger, we won't make them wait outside or anything like that, we just ask that they are seated or in your arms while visiting.

please also note: we are small and ever-shrinking space, we do not have space for parties to roll up with several baby strollers.

nope, sorry. we are a small, first-come first-served kinda place.

yes it does, thanks for asking. we always try our best to accommodate but due to limited seating, we cannot guarantee that groups of 7+ can be sat all together.

groups with 10+ cannot be accommodated unless we split the group up and seat you separately.

saturdays and sundays are our busiest days. we have limited seating and no standing room. wait times vary but can be anywhere from 5 to 55 minutes during peak hours. we do our best to turn tables over but ask for your patience.

if you are coming in to grab product or merch to-go, you do not have to wait in line. just inform the staff at the front of the line and they will direct you where to go.

no problem. no problem at all. send an email with your preferred pick up time to shop@downeastcider.com. if you don’t hear from us in time, come at your preferred time, and as long as you arrive during our taproom hours we won’t turn you away.

yes. bring in your clean and empty downeast branded growler for a discount on your refill. *this is not a deposit program, we cannot give money back for empty growlers*

to ensure maximum freshness, growlers are filled once you arrive to pick up and not beforehand.please note:online growler prices are fornew growlers only. if you are looking to refill a downeast growler that you already own, please bring it to the taproom clean to get them refilled for a discount.

we will always do our best to make any corrections if we have not sent the order out yet. please email shop@downeastcider.com to make any corrections to your order.

please note we must ship in compliance with state and federal laws. you must be 21+ to order. the recipient must also be 21+ with a valid I.D. upon delivery. *ups will make three attempts to deliver and failure to receive and sign for your package will result in it being sent back to us at your cost.*

at this time, we are not able to accommodate or reserve space for private parties. all space is first-come first-serve. further event questions? email info@downeastcider.com.

1/6 bbl kegs can usually be purchased online for cider house pick-up just like growlers and cans for all year-round blends depending on availability/inventory. prices vary based on flavor and availability. a $90 deposit is included in the price. you must pick them up and drop them back off (within 3 months) in person (we can't ship them). if returned within 3 months with a receipt and/or order #, we will refund your deposit.

if you don't live in the area, you can look into getting a keg through your local liquor store that carries our product. kegs are fitted with standard d-style spears which we do not provide, but you can rent those through your local liquor store. cheers!
