Yes—any order containing alcohol requires someone 21+ to be home to sign for it.
UPS will make three delivery attempts before sending your order back to us. If you or your recipient won't be home during the day, we highly recommend selecting a UPS Access Point as your shipping method at checkout.
Access Point deliveries will be held for one week before being returned to us.
No—Orders cannot be shipped to an APO/FPO/DPO or P.O. Box, because all orders require an adult signature upon delivery.
We typically process and ship orders within 1–3 business days. However, extreme weather, product availability, or higher volume during busy seasons may cause delays.
You'll get an email with tracking info as soon as your label is created. Once shipped, most orders arrive in 1–5 business days.
Changing your delivery address through UPS may also delay things—so we recommend keeping the original address whenever possible.
Maybe. Once an order is placed, we typically can’t make any edits—this includes changing your shipping address, items, or quantities.
If something’s off, or you simply changed your mind about your order, you can email shop@downeastcider.com within 24 hours to request a cancellation. If approved, you’ll be able to place a new order with the correct info. We can’t guarantee cancellations, but we’ll do our best.
No—all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges.
We’ll make it right. If your order arrived with damaged cans (empty, leaking, or otherwise defective), is missing an item, or includes the wrong item, please email us within 1 day of delivery at shop@downeastcider.com. Include your order number and clear photos or videos of the issue.
If approved, we’ll send a replacement or process a refund. (Refunds may take 1–10 business days to appear back in your account, depending on your bank).
Our cider is packaged in aluminum cans and cardboard boxes. It’s liquid and it's heavy, and some minor denting and dinging can and often does happen in transit—but we promise your cider is totally fine.
Ensuring you're available for the first delivery attempt helps minimize excess bumps and damage.
If UPS can't complete delivery or you don’t pick up your order from the Access Point in time, it will get sent back to us.
In that case, we can refund the product cost only, minus both the original and return shipping fees.
Return shipping is the fee UPS charges to send undeliverable packages back to us—this cost varies based on weight, location, and package size.
If those combined shipping fees end up being more than your order total, there won’t be a refund to issue.
Everything we ship to you has at least 2 weeks left before its best-by date, which can be found on the bottom of your cans. If you got something cutting it close, email us a photo and your order number at shop@downeastcider.com and we'll help you out from there.
No—our cider is shelf-stable and ships at room temp. But for best taste, toss it in the fridge before cracking one open. Also, maybe don't leave it laying out on your hot porch in the sun.
That’s just the good stuff. Downeast Cider is unfiltered, which means you might see some sediment or "floaties" when your pour from your can. Totally normal. We recommend storing cans upside down and giving them a little shake before opening.
